Stating that they will not say "I will work with this one, I will not work with that one" like supporting a football team, Saadet Party General Chairman Mahmut Arıkan said, "The principles are clear. First, ethics and spirituality, development related to production, a dignified foreign policy... We will discuss the subheadings of this. Just as we talked in '74, just as we talked in '77, we talked in '97. We presented the most important governments in the history of the Republic of Turkey. We need to talk. We will talk again. We are not saying this will definitely happen, this will definitely not happen." with these words, he gave a green light to the People's Alliance.
