Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç emphasized the state's resolute stance in the fight against violence against women during his speech at the 'Panel on Strengthening Women's Access to Justice.' Tunç stated that all mechanisms have been strengthened with the principle of "zero tolerance for violence," adding, "There is no step back on violence against women, there will never be any concessions, and there is no room for leniency."
Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made important statements at the 'Panel on Strengthening Women's Access to Justice'. Tunç stated, "We consider justice services not as an opportunity, but as a guarantee of the rights that women inherently possess."
"ZERO TOLERANCE" MESSAGE AGAINST VIOLENCE
Continuing his speech, Minister Tunç emphasized that a country where women live in safety can only be achieved through the effectiveness of the law and commitment to human rights, saying, "A country where every woman lives in safety is only possible with the power of the law, loyalty to human rights, and the will for zero tolerance against violence."
"WE ARE UNDOUBTEDLY IMPLEMENTING AND STRENGTHENING ALL MECHANISMS"
Highlighting the determination to combat violence against women, Tunç stated that the state is taking swift and deterrent steps in all legal and administrative processes, using the following words:
"Therefore, our determination is clear. We are implementing and further strengthening all legal and administrative mechanisms that enhance access to justice, protect the victim, and respond swiftly and deterrently to the perpetrator, without any hesitation."
"THE STATE REPRESENTS A WILL THAT EXPOSES VIOLENCE, NOT HIDES IT"
Tunç emphasized that the state is acting with an understanding that empowers the victim at the current point, stating, "At the point we have reached today, our state represents a will that does not hide violence but exposes it; that does not turn a blind eye to the perpetrator but holds them accountable; that does not leave the victim alone but stands firmly by their side."
"THIS STRUGGLE IS A NECESSITY OF BEING A STATE"
Minister Tunç stated that the struggle is not a choice but a necessity, saying, "For us, this struggle is not a choice, but a necessity of being a state."
"THERE IS NO BACKING DOWN, NO COMPROMISE, NO TOLERANCE"
At the end of his speech, Minister Tunç reiterated the determination to combat violence against women:
"Therefore, we once again express strongly from here that there is no backing down on violence against women, there is never any compromise, there is no tolerance."
Tunç concluded his remarks by reminding that the political will and the common stance of all institutions are clear, stating, "The common attitude of politics, bureaucracy, civil society, and all our institutions is strong, clear, and determined."
