Minister Uraloğlu announced: The obligation for winter tires for private vehicles is coming.

29.11.2024 23:10

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the winter tire application, which is mandatory for commercial vehicles and will start on December 1, will also become mandatory for private vehicles in the future.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made striking statements regarding the agenda during a live broadcast program he attended.

Uraloğlu announced that the winter tire application, which is mandatory for commercial vehicles and will start on December 1, will also become mandatory for private vehicles in the future.

"WE WILL INTRODUCE WINTER TIRE OBLIGATION FOR PRIVATE VEHICLES AS WELL"

Minister Uraloğlu stated, "There is no chance of keeping heavy snow in the air. Especially if there is a blizzard, you cannot fight against the snow. If a person is stranded, you conduct a rescue operation. We see people stranded in America, Germany, and France. The winter tire requirement for commercial vehicles was set for December 1. This decision was brought forward in November. Traffic occurred on the roads mostly because winter tires were not installed. From now on, we will implement the winter tire obligation on November 15. After a while, we will also introduce the winter tire obligation for private vehicles. This is a self-criticism," he expressed.

HOW MUCH ARE WINTER TIRE PRICES?

In 2024, winter tire prices can start from 2,000 TL per unit and can increase up to 5,000 TL. A total payment of up to 20,000 TL can be made for 4 tires.
