Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 29 people were arrested in an operation against an organized crime group involved in online auto parts sales fraud, with 25 of them being detained. The operation was carried out in 10 provinces and over 500 people were defrauded.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated, "Drawing attention to the sale of 'auto spare parts' over the internet, we have captured 29 suspects in our operations against an organized crime group of fraudsters in 10 provinces centered in Tekirdağ. 25 of them have been arrested."
YERLİKAYA ANNOUNCED THE DETAILS OF THE OPERATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya noted in a post on his social media account that their fight against criminal networks defrauding people and illegal structures continues uninterrupted, stating; "Pay attention to the sale of 'auto spare parts' over the internet. In our operations against an organized crime group of fraudsters in 10 provinces centered in Tekirdağ, we have captured 29 suspects. 25 of them have been arrested. In coordination with our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the EGM Cyber Crime Department; as a result of the efforts carried out by the Cyber Crime Branch of the Tekirdağ Provincial Police Department; operations were conducted in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Gaziantep, Samsun, Manisa, Konya, Mersin, and Denizli against an organized crime group that defrauded more than 500 citizens of approximately 250 million lira by promising to sell 'auto spare parts' over the internet."
