Istanbul Police Department initiated an investigation after footage showing a child being beaten by a large group was shared on social media. The police determined that the incident took place in Büyükçekmece and the beaten child was 16-year-old M.A.Z.

6 OF THEM WERE ARRESTED

The police identified the individuals who beat the child and detained B.Ç, M.T, R.E.K, N.N.K, M.Ç, B.M.D, B.G.D, and H.E.K, whose ages range from 12 to 17. After the procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to Büyükçekmece Courthouse. B.G.D. was released by the prosecutor. B.Ç, M.T, R.E.K, N.N.K, M.Ç, and H.E.K. were arrested for "intentional injury" and B.M.D. was released under judicial control.
