Iran simultaneously targeted both the US Fifth Fleet in the Persian Gulf and the strategic US military base in northern Iraq with ballistic missiles.
Iran has launched a full-scale attack against the U.S. military presence in the region as the war enters its 34th day. In the operation that began at night, the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet, based in Bahrain, and U.S. bases in Northern Iraq were subjected to a barrage of ballistic missiles.
U.S. BASE IN NORTHERN IRAQ IN FLAMES
The shared video footage shows the devastating destruction caused by the ballistic missiles hitting the U.S. base in Northern Iraq. According to the images, as the missiles struck the base area, the sky was illuminated by massive fireballs, while local sources reported that a serious fire broke out inside the base and ammunition depots exploded. The intensity of the explosions was heard from kilometers away, causing great panic in the nearby civilian settlements.
NIGHT RAID ON THE 5TH FLEET
At the same time, tense moments were experienced in the Persian Gulf. Dozens of ballistic missiles fired from Iranian territory headed towards the area where the U.S. 5th Fleet is located. Although it was seen that some missiles were attempted to be intercepted by U.S. air defense systems, many missiles reached their target area, resulting in massive explosions.
"DIRECT HIT" MESSAGE
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps announced that both operations were successfully completed and were carried out as a response to the "crimes of the Zionist regime and the U.S. in the region." It was claimed that advanced ballistic missiles were used in the attacks and that critical points at U.S. bases were hit "with direct hits."
