The leader of the Great Unity Party, Mustafa Destici, called for an unconditional and non-negotiable surrender of weapons in his speech in Mardin. Destici emphasized that there would be no negotiations between the Republic of Turkey and terrorist organizations.
Mustafa Destici, the Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), stated regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process, "Unconditionally, without negotiations, without bargaining, if they will lay down their arms and disband, we would be very pleased."
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici attended the Ordinary Provincial Congress of his party in Mardin. The congress, held at the Atatürk Cultural Center in the Rectorate building of Artuklu University, began with the recitation of the Quran, followed by a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem. In the election conducted with a single list, the current Provincial Chairman Salih Ersöz was re-elected. Speaking at the congress, Destici made statements regarding the country's agenda.
"WE ARE ONE, TOGETHER, AND BROTHERS"
Destici expressed, "First of all, I want to state that we, as the Turkish nation, are one, together, and brothers with our Kurds, Arabs, and Turkmens. Therefore, we will not give opportunities to those who try to disrupt our unity and destroy our brotherhood, just as we have not done so until today."
"YOU WILL LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS WITHOUT BARGAINING, YOU WILL DISBAND"
Destici made the following statements: "As it was said from the beginning when this process started, the laying down of arms and the disbandment of the terrorist organization without conditions, without bargaining, and without negotiations; none of us object to this, and all our people, especially our people in the region, except for a very small minority, would say 'Yes' to this. But if there are negotiations behind closed doors, if certain conditions are put forward saying there are no conditions, no bargaining, and no negotiations, then this nation will say 'stop.'
This is exactly what we are saying. If they will disband, let them. We would be very pleased. We would be very pleased on behalf of our nation, especially on behalf of our people in the region. We would be very pleased for the internal peace of our country. We would be very pleased for the development of our country. But we see that this is not the case. Why? Because I have said from the beginning that I cannot trust those on the other side, I do not trust them. Why? Because there is America. There is Israel. There is the West. We see this very clearly and distinctly, and if the terrorist organization is sincere in this matter, or if those who speak on their behalf or the terrorists are sincere, they must first cut their ties with America, Israel, and the West."
"THERE IS NO BARGAINING WITH TERRORISTS FOR THE REPUBLIC OF TURKEY"
Stating that the Republic of Turkey has no bargaining with terrorists, Destici said, "No condition can be accepted. I will not go into details here. What do they say? They use fancy sentences. They say legal recognition. What I understand is; they say you will legally recognize the terrorist organization. I will just deceive you, I will change my name, and you will recognize me. Just like in northern Syria; YPG became SDF. Secondly, they say democratic transformation. Well, what is this democratic transformation? What is democratic transformation? We want to hear this. What is meant here? Which articles of our constitution are intended to be changed? We are in favor of everyone speaking their mother tongue.
While no one was saying this, the Great Unity Party was saying it. We are still of the same opinion. We are in favor of everyone expressing their identity. The Great Unity Party was saying this before anyone else could. Today, we are saying the same things. We stand by everyone, every individual of this nation living their faith, tradition, and customs. We say all of these. But there is something that everyone must accept, which is valid for all states. Every state has a name. Every nation has a name. Every state has an official language. Every state has an identity. When you lose these, you become like Iraq, you will be divided into three. You become like Syria, you will be divided. We want unity. We want brotherhood. We want togetherness. If Mardin produces a Nobel Prize-winning Aziz Sancar, it means that new Aziz Sancars can also emerge. Mardin has this potential. On behalf of myself, my community, and all our brothers from Mardin and this region present in the hall, we thank him. We express our feelings of gratitude."
