THE INCIDENT OCCURRED IN THE NIGHT HOURS
On the night of December 11, around 10:30 PM, an incident took place at Cappadocia Turkish Restaurant in Phuket, Thailand, where an Australian tourist collided with a glass door and was seriously injured. Following the incident, police teams were dispatched to the restaurant.
SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE EXAMINED
In the security camera footage examined by the police, it was observed that the tourist entered the restaurant alone, sat at a table, and exhibited unsteady movements after a while. According to the footage, after shaking his head, the tourist suddenly stood up, ran towards the glass door, and collided with it. The impact caused the glass door to break.
SERIOUSLY INJURED, PASSED AWAY IN HOSPITAL
The Australian tourist, who was seriously injured in the incident, was taken to Chalong Hospital by ambulance. Authorities reported that the tourist, who suffered severe blood loss due to a deep cut on his right leg, passed away despite all medical interventions.
WITNESSES REPORTED
Customers and staff present in the restaurant stated that the tourist exhibited unusual behavior before the incident. It was learned that some customers changed their seats for this reason. Panic ensued in the restaurant at the time of the incident.
POLICE INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION
The Thai police have launched an investigation to determine how the incident occurred. While there has been no official statement regarding whether the tourist's family has been notified, it has been reported that contact has been made with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs.
