Former national basketball player İlkan Karaman, 34, lost his life in a traffic accident in the district of Datça in Muğla. A vehicle driven by a driver who was reported to be drunk hit Karaman, who was waiting on the sidewalk. After the unfortunate incident, Karaman lost his life at the scene of the accident.

DRUNK DRIVER HIT WHILE WAITING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD

Karaman, 34, who was going to Dalaman for diving, was waiting on the side of the road while his friend was getting gas when a driver who lost control of the steering wheel and was reported to be drunk hit Karaman by driving onto the sidewalk. Karaman, who was trapped under the car due to the impact, lost his life at the scene of the accident.

İlkan Karaman, born in 1990, was raised in the TOFAŞ youth system; he played for Pınar Karşıyaka, Fenerbahçe, Acıbadem University, Beşiktaş, İBB, Büyükçekmece, Cholet, Antibes, Petkim Spor, Yalovaspor, Manisa BB, and finally Çayırova Belediyesi. Karaman, who also played for the national team, was among the important names in Turkish basketball.
