After 19 days of being missing in Diyarbakır, the court announced its decision regarding the murder of Narin Güran, whose lifeless body was found. Enes Güran, Salim Güran, and Yüksel Güran were sentenced to aggravated imprisonment, while Nevzat Bahtiyar received a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months. NEVZAT RECEIVED A PRISON SENTENCE FOR HIDING EVIDENCEThe sentence given to Nevzat Bahtiyar also brought about discussions. Bahtiyar, who confessed to taking Narin's body to a stream bed, was acquitted of the charge of "murder with participation" given to Enes, Salim, and Yüksel. Bahtiyar received his sentence for the crime of hiding and destroying evidence. ACQUITTED OF "MURDER WITH PARTICIPATION"In the brief decision announced by the court, the explanation for the sentence given to Nevzat Bahtiyar was as follows: Although a public case was opened against the defendant Nevzat Bahtiyar for the intentional murder of the deceased Narin Güran in participation with the other defendants, it was understood that when the defendant came to the house of the participant Arif, he found the lifeless body of the deceased Narin on the ground, and then, under the threats of defendant Salim, he took Narin's lifeless body from Arif's house to the Eğertutmaz stream and hid the bag containing the lifeless body by placing stones on it. Considering that the act attributed to the defendant constitutes the crime of destroying, hiding, or altering evidence; the manner of committing the crime, the importance and value of the subject of the crime, the reasons and motives for the crime, the fact that the lifeless body of the deceased Narin was found not through the defendant's statements but as a result of investigations, the time elapsed from the date of Narin's murder to the date her lifeless body was found, and the inability to find evidence during this period (despite dozens of investigations conducted by forensic institutions, no evidence was found, and the reason for the lack of evidence was that the lifeless body had remained in the water for a long time), it was decided to sentence him to 4 years and 6 months in prison in accordance with Article 281/1 of the Turkish Penal Code, with discretion and aggravation. CAN BE RELEASEDA new possibility regarding Nevzat has come to the agenda. Considering the time Nevzat Bahtiyar has spent in prison, he may be eligible for release.
