New corruption operation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality! 20 people, including the General Manager of IETT, are in custody.

A new wave of arrests has been made as part of the corruption investigation targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB). The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention orders for 25 individuals. As part of the operation, 20 people, including İETT General Manager İrfan Demet, have been detained.

As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, Antalya, Çanakkale, Trabzon, Bursa, and Giresun against the criminal organization led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş.

ALLEGATION OF TAMPERING WITH TENDERS AT İSFALT AND İETT

According to the investigation file, it was determined that the criminal organization tampered with some tenders obtained from İSFALT and İETT. As part of the investigation, detention orders were issued for a total of 25 suspects, including individuals who served on the commissions of these tenders and tender officials. A large number of digital materials and documents found during searches at the suspects' addresses were seized.

20 PEOPLE DETAINED

In the operation, 20 suspects were detained. Efforts to capture the other five suspects are ongoing.

Kazım Taylan Sever - Head of Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Department at İETT

Halil İbrahim Kaya - İETT İkitelli Garage Manager

Ali Haydar Topçu - Accounting Manager at İETT

Şeymus Oral - Head of Financial Affairs Department at İETT

In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that in the investigation against the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization," a total of 25 suspects, including individuals who were part of the commissions of the tenders identified as having been "tampered with" and tender officials from İsfalt and İETT, were subjected to searches and seizure operations at their addresses in Istanbul, Antalya, Çanakkale, Trabzon, Bursa, and Giresun, leading to their detention.
