In his speech, Aktaş stated, 'Our heroic martyr Şeyda was a police officer for about 1 year. She had sworn to serve in every corner of our sacred homeland where our star and crescent flag waves. Our daughter Şeyda was injured during a heroic struggle with the fleeing suspect while working at the Dudullu Şehit İsmail Akkoyun Police Center of the Ümraniye District Police Department on September 22. Despite all interventions, she could not be saved and became a martyr. As a result of the efforts made, the perpetrator of the incident was captured shortly after, injured. The untimely loss of our martyr deeply saddened all of us, especially her very valuable family. I know very well that it is not possible to alleviate the pain you cannot contain in your hearts today. Our sorrow is deep, and our pain is great. May God grant us all patience,' he expressed.
HER FUNERAL WAS SENT TO HER HOMETOWN SIVAS
The martyred police officer Şeyda Yılmaz was sent to her hometown Sivas for burial after receiving permission from her family. Police officer Yılmaz will be buried today after the funeral prayer to be held at the Ayyıldız Mosque in the center of Sivas following the afternoon prayer.
