The defendants Emre C. and Kadir D., who were not in custody, also recounted the events.
In the first trial of the case regarding the death of Yasemin Cemre İçlikan (17), whose body was found in the water-filled elevator shaft of a protected dormitory 4 days after leaving, the murder suspect, her boyfriend Bedirhan G. (17), and his friends, Emre C. (17) and Kadir D. (17), appeared before the judge. In his statement, Kadir D. said, "On the day of the incident, Bedirhan and Yasemin used drugs at the construction site. Later, they went upstairs and had sex together. Bedirhan told Yasemin, 'Have sex with Emre too, if you don't do as I say, I will throw you into the elevator shaft.' When Yasemin refused, he pushed her into the elevator shaft. Bedirhan later threw debris on Yasemin, who had died, together with Emre."
In August of last year in Bursa, following a report, the body of a woman was found in the elevator shaft of a construction site in the Yıldırım district. It was determined that the body belonged to Yasemin Cemre İçlikan, who had left the Bursa Directorate of Family and Social Services-approved dormitory where she stayed on August 23 and did not return. After the prosecutor's examination at the scene, Yasemin Cemre İçlikan's lifeless body was autopsied and buried in Bursa.
DEPRESSED AFTER LEARNING SHE WAS ADOPTED During the investigation, it was revealed that the couple R.B.- M.N.İ. living in Eskişehir adopted Yasemin Cemre İçlikan in 2008 when they did not have children, and M.N.İ., who divorced his wife, moved to Bursa with his daughter Yasemin. When Yasemin learned that she was adopted at the age of 8, she became depressed. When she turned 12 and started to run away from home, she was placed in the Bursa Directorate of Family and Social Services-approved dormitory by her father M.N.İ. It was stated that Yasemin, who also started to run away from the dormitory, was placed in a high-security dormitory due to allegations of drug use.
As part of the investigation initiated regarding the incident, the İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü Asayiş Şube Müdürlüğü (Provincial Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate) examined the security cameras in the area and took statements from witnesses, and detained 3 people, including the young girl's boyfriend. Bedirhan G., who is İçlikan's boyfriend, and his cousins Kadir D. and Emre C. were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. Bedirhan G. was arrested, while Kadir D. and Emre C. were released under judicial control.
At the end of the investigation, an indictment was accepted by the Bursa Juvenile Court, demanding aggravated life imprisonment and a total of up to 20 years in prison for Bedirhan G. on charges of "Intentional Homicide," "Sexual Abuse of a Minor," and "Deprivation of Liberty." Kadir D. and Emre C., who were charged with "Aiding and Abetting Murder" and "Deprivation of Liberty," respectively, were also demanded to be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. The first trial, which was closed to the press, was attended by the detained and released defendants, as well as their lawyers and relatives.
THEY THREW DEBRIS ON HER In the first trial, the released defendant Kadir D. said, "On the day of the incident, Bedirhan and Yasemin used drugs at the construction site. Later, they went upstairs and had sex together. Bedirhan told Yasemin, 'Have sex with Emre too, if you don't do as I say, I will throw you into the elevator shaft.' When Yasemin refused, he pushed her into the elevator shaft. Bedirhan later threw debris on Yasemin, who had died, together with Emre. They threatened me and made me throw debris too."
The other released defendant, Emre C., stated that he was innocent and said that he knew that Bedirhan was selling Yasemin, his girlfriend, to men for money. Bedirhan G., on the other hand, stated that on the day of the incident, after taking drugs with Yasemin Cemre İçlikan at the construction site, they had consensual sex and said, "I didn't kill her by pushing her. She was going backwards while arguing. Foam was coming out of her mouth. She lost her balance and fell into the elevator shaft."
The court adjourned the trial of the defendants, who repeated their statements given during the prosecutor's investigation, for the listening of witnesses and waiting for missing documents until September, and decided to continue the detention of Bedirhan G.
