Security camera footage has emerged showing the moments when Fatih İnan, who confessed to killing Mihriban Yılmaz and burying her body, entered a forest road with his truck in the Bornova district of İzmir.
Striking details have emerged in the investigation into the murder of Mihriban Yılmaz, who was reported missing in İzmir.
The incident occurred on December 29, 2025, in the Ümit neighborhood. Mihriban Yılmaz, who lived with her family, left home in the evening and went to visit relatives living nearby. After staying there for a while, Yılmaz left, saying, "I will meet someone." After this date, her family, who could not get any news from her, filed a missing person report. With the support of the Intelligence Branch Directorate, teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch and the Bornova Police Department began working on the case.
HE CONFESSED HIS CRIME The police determined that Yılmaz went to an empty lot on 7309 Street around 8:30 PM on the day of the incident and got into a waiting truck. It was identified that the person driving the vehicle was Fatih İnan. It was also found that the suspect lived in the same building as Yılmaz's relatives. On January 11, the police detained Fatih İnan along with R.Ç. (34), R.Ç. (32), H.İ. (37), and Ö.İ. (25). During the interrogation by the Homicide Bureau detectives, İnan confessed to his crime.
HE WAS ARRESTED He stated that he strangled Yılmaz and buried her body in the forest. Following this, İnan showed the location where he buried the body under police escort. During the examination in the area, Yılmaz's lifeless body was found. After the procedures at the police station, the suspects were sent to the courthouse, where Fatih İnan was arrested, and four others were released under judicial control. Yılmaz's body was buried.
REVEALED THROUGH MESSAGING While the investigation into the murder was ongoing, a connection between İnan and an incident that occurred in 2023 was revealed. In the investigation of the Mihriban Yılmaz murder case, it was determined that Fatih İnan's brother, Ömer İnan, had messaged their uncle, K.İ. It was reported that K.İ. sent a message saying, "I am not afraid of the old one, I am afraid of this one," to which Ömer İnan replied, "Don't make a sound." It was stated that the messages in question were related to the death of Naile Büşra Sarıgül.
Mihriban Yılmaz 'NO PROSECUTION REQUIRED' DECISION LIFTED It was revealed that Naile Büşra Sarıgül, who worked as a workplace safety expert in a factory in the Yunusemre district of Manisa, also died after falling from a height on August 3, 2023, and that sperm samples belonging to Fatih İnan were found in the DNA samples taken from Sarıgül. It was reported that the death was due to a heart attack, and it was learned that a 'no prosecution required' decision was made regarding İnan. Following this development, the investigation prosecutor requested the lifting of the 'no prosecution required' decision regarding Sarıgül's death.
STRONG SUSPICION OF CRIME In his renewed statement, Fatih İnan claimed that he had a romantic relationship with Naile Büşra Sarıgül, but witnesses did not confirm this situation. The prosecutor stated that there was strong suspicion that İnan committed the crime, as he allegedly pushed Sarıgül from the second floor of the construction site after having sexual intercourse with her without her consent, and that this situation was also known by relatives. Fatih İnan, who is detained for the murder of Mihriban Yılmaz, was also arrested for 'qualified sexual assault' and 'premeditated murder' against Sarıgül.
HIS BROTHER WAS ALSO ARRESTED In the investigation, Fatih İnan's brother, Ömer İnan, was also detained on January 16. It was stated that Ömer İnan participated in the act of intentional murder committed by his brother Fatih İnan as an accomplice. Their mobile phones were taken for examination, and it was expressed that the evidence in the case had not yet been fully collected and that new suspects could be added. Ömer İnan was arrested by the court on the same day he was brought to the courthouse on the grounds of 'strong suspicion of having committed the alleged crime.'
