After the arrest of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the dismissed General Editor of Habertürk, a notable post came from Tuğçe Acar, with whom he had worked at the channel for a period. Acar stated, "In our last meeting, Mehmet Akif Ersoy exhibited behaviors that I did not want and that constituted a violation of boundaries. After this incident, I had ended all communication with him. Today, I see that I am not alone."
Journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested in a drug operation organized by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Following his detention, Ersoy was removed from his position as the Editor-in-Chief of Habertürk. He has been accused of forming an organization and drug-related offenses. It has been claimed that Ersoy systematically sexually abused employees at the TV channel. Ersoy denied the allegations.
ANOTHER REVELATION ABOUT MEHMET AKİF ERSOY
Tuğçe Acar, with whom Ersoy worked for a period, also shared a statement regarding him after his drug test came back positive. Acar stated, "I worked for many years at Habertürk TV, where I was also a producer for Akif for a long time. After leaving the channel, our friendship strengthened, and we continued to meet; however, during our last meeting, he exhibited unwanted and boundary-violating behaviors towards me. After this incident, I ended all communication with him."
ALLEGATION OF HALTING THE HIRING PROCESS
Acar mentioned in her statement that despite a positive outcome from a job interview with Habertürk TV, the hiring process was halted after Ersoy was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief. She conveyed that she shared her experiences with some executives and was informed that due to Ersoy's position at the channel, she would not be able to work at Habertürk.

Tuğçe Acar highlighted the boundary violations that women face in the workplace, emphasizing that the cost of such situations is paid with careers. She expressed that silence should not follow the events, stating, "Today I see that I am not alone. No one should remain silent either."
Acar concluded her statement with the words, "I spent those days saying, 'One day the tables will turn,' and now that the tables have turned, thank God."
