Following the recent bus accident on the Antalya-Burdur highway that claimed the lives of 10 people, police teams took action after footage was released showing another bus belonging to the Buzlu company speeding in rainy weather. The bus in question was penalized for excessive speed and for not having a seatbelt in the passenger seat.

Moments after the accident in which 10 people lost their lives, another bus belonging to the Buzlu company was seen speeding on the slippery road affected by rain, captured in real-time by a citizen with a mobile phone camera.

DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED DESPITE HEAVY RAIN

The footage was recorded very close to the route where the bus accident occurred a few days ago, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 24 others, near the Kuzey Çevreyolu in the Kömücüler neighborhood of Döşemealtı district during the afternoon hours. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the bus was seen traveling at high speed, and the recorded moments quickly spread on social media, causing public outrage.

PENALTY IMPOSED

Following the publication of the footage, inspections and tachograph checks were conducted by the Regional Traffic Inspection Branch of the Burdur Police Department, which determined that the driver had committed a speed violation and that there was no seatbelt system in the passenger seat. Due to these violations, a traffic administrative fine was imposed on the driver in accordance with the relevant articles of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918.
