North Korea has released images of a uranium-producing facility for the first time, while Kim Jong Un has ordered an "exponential increase" in the number of nuclear weapons. In the photos shared by state media, Kim can be seen walking among rows of tall gray tubes, wearing black clothing, receiving information from scientists and military officials. This marks the first time North Korea has revealed its uranium enrichment facility since 2010. Experts suggest that this move could be aimed at pressuring the US and its allies and influencing the US presidential elections in November. During his visit, Kim expressed satisfaction with North Korea's nuclear technology and emphasized the need to increase the number of centrifuges. He also observed test launches of nuclear-capable rockets in recent days and visited a training base of a special operations group. The Ministry of Unification in South Korea strongly condemned North Korea's actions, stating that they pose a serious threat to international peace. Experts say that the released images could be a valuable source for estimating the amount of nuclear material produced by North Korea. The photos show approximately 1,000 centrifuges, which are estimated to be capable of producing around 20-25 kilograms of highly enriched uranium annually. Estimates of how many nuclear bombs North Korea can add each year range from six to 18. The country has increased its weapon testing activities to expand its nuclear missile arsenal targeting the US and South Korea since 2022.
