RAMS Başakşehir's head coach Nuri Şahin expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of referee Halil Umut Meler after the Trabzonspor match, stating, "It's very difficult for us to work with referees at this level."
In the 14th week of the Trendyol Super League, Başakşehir lost 4-3 to Trabzonspor at home.
''SCORING 3 GOALS WITH 10 PLAYERS IS NOT EASY''
In the press conference held after the match, Başakşehir's head coach Nuri Şahin stated, "I congratulate Trabzonspor. The match needs to be divided into two parts. We started the match very well. There was an unfortunate situation. We were left with one player less. My team played as they should with 10 players. They gave their all in the fight. We scored 3 goals with 10 players. Scoring 3 goals against an opponent like Trabzonspor is not easy. I am proud of my players. No matter how sad we are today, when we wake up tomorrow morning, both my players and I will feel that Başakşehir is a team again. There is nothing to do, we will continue on our path," he expressed.
''IT'S VERY HARD FOR US WITH REFEREES AT THIS LEVEL''
Şahin, who expressed his dissatisfaction with the management of the match referee Halil Umut Meler, said, "I don't want to talk too much about referees. My concern is the quality of the game, football. It will always be like this. It's very hard for us with referees at this level. This is not just valid for us, but for every club. Today we are suffering the consequences. This is definitely a topic that needs to be addressed. We have good players, good teams, and good clubs in our league, but I cannot say that the level of referees is at the same level. This is my personal opinion. There are people working hard here. There are 100-200 employees in Başakşehir Club. We may be few, but we are a very good club. I work for a club that strives for the beauty of football. I am proud of both my club and my team. We are going through a difficult period. I am sure it will turn in our favor. Başakşehir will re-enter this competition in the long term, if not in the short term," he stated.
