Mamak Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate responded to the allegations that quickly spread on social media and among citizens that "20 stray dogs were shot and taken away" with documents. It was stated that the allegations do not reflect the truth and the number of collected dogs is 4. Furthermore, it was emphasized that the animals will be released back to their environment after rehabilitation. Veterinary Affairs Director Nurettin Polat said, "We take care of the animals here as if they were our own."

Mamak Municipality announced that the dogs were taken care of and rehabilitated at the Mamak Street Animals and Rehabilitation Center. It was proven with documents that the number of dogs was not 20 but 4.
DOGS ATTACKING CITIZENS WERE TAKEN FROM THE AREA
Teams affiliated with Mamak Municipality Veterinary Directorate took the stray dogs under protection and took them to the Mamak Municipality Street Animals Rehabilitation and Temporary Care Center in Kutludüğün in order to protect both the stray dogs and the citizens, upon the consecutive complaints of the neighborhood headman that they attacked the citizens in Boğaziçi Neighborhood.
"LEGAL ACTION WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST THOSE WHO MAKE FALSE ACCUSATIONS"
However, some claimed that the street dogs were shot and taken away. Nurettin Polat, the Director of Veterinary Affairs of Mamak Municipality, stated that the news was false and emphasized that legal action would be taken against those who made false accusations.
"THEY WERE REHABILITATED AND WILL BE RELEASED WHERE THEY WERE TAKEN FROM"
Polat stated, "We started working in the region upon the intense complaints of the neighborhood headman of Boğaziçi Neighborhood that the street dogs were bothering the people. Our teams caught four street dogs. Our teams took the animals to the Street Animals Rehabilitation and Temporary Care Center in Kutludüğün, where they first fed them. Then we examined the animals. The animals were rehabilitated by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Veterinary Services and will be released back to their environment. The claim that 20 dogs were taken away is a lie."
"WE TAKE CARE OF ANIMALS LIKE OUR OWN EYES"
Polat emphasized that it is not possible to catch 20 dogs with 3 personnel and said, "We have documents for all our work. If the individuals who make this claim cannot prove it, we will initiate a legal process against them. We take care of animals here like our own eyes."
