The decision regarding the election of İrfan Fidan as the Deputy President of the Constitutional Court has been published in the Official Gazette. The election was conducted in accordance with Article 146 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Article 12 of Law No. 6216 on the Establishment and Jurisdiction Procedures of the Constitutional Court.
Due to the fact that the term of the Deputy President of the Constitutional Court, Hasan Tahsin Gökcan, will end on March 23, 2026, Irfan Fidan was elected as the Deputy President in the General Assembly elections.

The decision regarding the election of Irfan Fidan as the Deputy President of the Constitutional Court was published in the Official Gazette. The election was conducted in accordance with Article 146 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Article 12 of Law No. 6216 on the Establishment and Procedural Rules of the Constitutional Court.
WHO IS IRFAN FIDAN?
He was elected as a member of the Court of Cassation from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
After graduating from Ankara University Faculty of Law, Irfan Fidan started his career as a candidate judge in the Ankara judiciary, serving successively as a public prosecutor in Kayseri Akkışla, Erzurum Aşkale, Zonguldak Çaycuma, Hatay Dörtyol, Istanbul Şişli, and Istanbul.
After being appointed as the authorized public prosecutor under Article 10 of the Anti-Terror Law in 2012, Fidan served as the Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul from January 16, 2015, to July 26, 2016, and then as the Chief Public Prosecutor of Istanbul until November 27, 2020. On November 27, 2020, he became a member of the Court of Cassation and was elected as a member of the Constitutional Court by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the AKP on January 23, 2021.
