Ömer Öcalan explained the details of the Imralı meeting.

DEM Party Urfa Deputy Ömer Öcalan spoke during the ongoing budget discussions in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Ömer Öcalan also shared some details about his meeting with Abdullah Öcalan on October 23.

ÖCALAN'S CALL FOR DIALOGUE

Recalling that he met with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on İmralı Island on October 23, 2024, Ömer Öcalan stated that Öcalan made deep analyses and evaluations. Öcalan continued his remarks as follows: "Öcalan evaluated the Kurdish-Turkish relations. He assessed the Kurdish-Turkish alliances. He evaluated how Kurds and Turks have come together at this stage. He clearly evaluated the alliances, relationships, and the problems that arise from time to time. There were solution proposals. He said, 'We can solve this problem through dialogue.'

"THEY SAID HE IS DOING IT TO SAVE HIMSELF"

Ömer Öcalan conveyed that Abdullah Öcalan said, "We could have actually solved this problem in 2000. I said on the plane in 1999, 'I will serve the solution of the Kurdish-Turkish issue.' I said it in 2000, and I am saying it now. But they pulled the issue into a different dimension. They said, 'Apo is doing this to save himself.'

"THE CONDITIONS ARE NOT MY PERSONAL CONDITIONS"

Stating that Abdullah Öcalan was in control of the agenda during the meeting, Ömer Öcalan said, "He clearly stated that he would take the initiative regarding the resolution of the problems. While talking about the conditions and circumstances in his message, he said, 'I am not saying these conditions and circumstances for my personal conditions.' He made evaluations aimed at preparing the environment for a solution."

"WE HAVE A HISTORICAL PROCESS AHEAD OF US"

Ömer Öcalan remarked, "Some talked about a third country, some about a guarantor country, but the issue is serious. We have a historical process ahead of us. We can turn this historical process into a great honorable peace in a positive sense. No one wants to think beyond that."

"THE MOST REASONABLE PROPOSALS"

Öcalan stated that during his meeting in İmralı, Öcalan made observations about the Middle East, Gaza, and Israel, and evaluated the Kurds in Iraq, Syria, and Iran, saying, "His proposals were the most reasonable proposals. His analyses were the most reasonable analyses."

Ömer Öcalan noted that the organization declared, "We stand behind him until the end" regarding the decisions and statements that Abdullah Öcalan will make, and added, "Öcalan deeply analyzed the thousand-year-old Kurdish and Turkish relations and has put forth the solution. We are in favor of a solution and peace, and we will move forward together with everyone who will contribute to this."
