A person who was detained on the allegation of defrauding a jeweler he had worked with for 16 years in Malatya for over 20 million lira was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison in the trial. However, after deducting the 14 days he spent in custody, his sentence was reduced to 1 day.

According to claims in Malatya; Y.K, who runs a jewelry business in the city center, noticed that İ.A, who had been working with him for 16 years, embezzled over 20 million liras from both customer and business accounts.

RELEASED AFTER 14 DAYS

"THE SENTENCE WILL BE REDUCED TO 1 DAY"

Y.K's lawyer Emre Apak stated that in the recent trial, İ.A was sentenced to 2 years and 1 month in prison, and this sentence would be reduced to 1 day due to the previous 14-day detention. Apak, who said they would appeal the decision, argued that a non-custodial sentence would lead to an increase in criminal cases. He mentioned that they would take the case to the Court of Appeals and that they would carry out necessary actions not only for their own cases but also for the public conscience and to prevent criminals from resorting to similar actions.
