Operation against Barış Boyun and Gündoğmuş criminal organizations: 14 suspects detained

In the operation conducted against the 'Barış Boyun' and 'Gündoğmuş' criminal organizations in Istanbul, 14 suspects were detained. The armed attack on a workplace operating in Fatih on July 11 on behalf of the criminal organization, and the actions of blocking the road and opening banners in Kağıthane Nurtepe on July 22 due to the criminal organization leader's birthday, were also included in the file.

Simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul targeting the Barış Boyun and Gündoğmuş criminal organizations. 14 suspects were detained in the operation.

CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE TAKES ACTION

As part of the investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, efforts were initiated to expose and terminate the activities of organized armed criminal organizations operating across the country, particularly in Istanbul, and internationally.

2 ACTIONS IN THE CASE

Within the scope of the investigation, an operation was carried out against suspects identified as being involved in an armed attack on a business operating in Fatih on July 11, carried out on behalf of the criminal organization, and an action on July 22 where the road was blocked and banners were opened in Kağıthane Nurtepe due to the birthday of the criminal organization leader.

14 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

During the simultaneous operations conducted in the morning hours in Istanbul, 14 suspects believed to be members of the 'Barış Boyun' and 'Gündoğmuş' criminal organizations were detained.

It was learned that the detained suspects include Abdullah D., Cafer Ç., Ozan Y., Viktor Bekir Mehmet Ö., Mücahit Emre A., Yakup G., and Özcan G. from the Barış Boyun group, and Mehmet B., Eren T., Enes K., Cemal İ., Gürkan Taha S. (SSÇ), Aslan D. (SSÇ), and Gökmen Miraç K. (SSÇ) from the Gündoğmuş group.

It was reported that procedures regarding the suspects detained within the scope of the operation are ongoing.
