Following the clash in Yalova, where three of our police officers were martyred, operations against the ISIS terrorist organization have been intensified. In an operation conducted in the capital, Ankara, 17 individuals were detained.
During the operation against ISIS in Yalova, 3 of our police officers were martyred as a result of the suspects opening fire on the police, and following this development, operations spread across the country.
17 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
Based on the instructions issued within the scope of the investigations conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terror Crimes Investigation Bureau, a detention order was issued.
As a result of the examination of digital materials obtained during the investigations against members of the ISIS armed terrorist organization, 17 suspects were detained, including 11 foreign nationals and 6 Turkish citizens, who were identified as having connections to conflict zones and evidence of being members of the organization.
ANTI-TERROR UNIT TEAMS WILL CONTINUE WITH THE PROCEDURES
In a statement made by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was noted that all suspects have been apprehended. It was recorded that the procedures for their transfer to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are being continued by the teams of the Ankara Provincial Police Department Anti-Terror Branch.
