In an operation organized by the Robbery Bureau of the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch across four provinces centered in Istanbul, 18 suspects believed to be members of a criminal organization were detained. After completing their procedures at the police station, 14 of the suspects were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested. It was decided to release 4 of the suspects.

Between April 29, 2025, and June 16, 2025, a series of operations were carried out in Muğla, İzmir, and Bursa, centered in Istanbul, against members of a criminal organization involved in numerous armed incidents by the teams of the Istanbul Police Department's Public Order Branch.
18 SUSPECTS DETAINED
In the operations, 18 suspects were detained for committing crimes such as 'armed robbery', 'auto theft', 'intentional injury', 'damage to property', 'threat', and 'deliberately endangering public safety'.
ARMORY FOUND
During the searches conducted at the homes and workplaces of the suspects, 4 AK-47 automatic rifles, 2 unlicensed pistols, 8 magazines, a large number of bullets belonging to these weapons, and stolen cars and motorcycles used in the incidents were seized.
ONE ROOM CONVERTED INTO A GREENHOUSE
Additionally, during a search at one of the suspects' homes, it was determined that one room had been converted into a greenhouse for the purpose of growing cannabis.
14 OF THE SUSPECTS ARRESTED
During the interrogations of the suspects brought to the Public Order Branch in Gayrettepe, it was determined that all suspects had previous criminal records due to incidents such as 'injury' and 'shooting'. The suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
14 of the suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before. The court decided to release 3 suspects under judicial control, while it was learned that 1 suspect was released after being questioned by the prosecutor.
"WE WILL NOT ALLOW CITY BANDITS TO OPERATE"
Congratulating the police officers who participated in the operation at the Public Order Branch, Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız stated in a press release regarding the operation, "In operations conducted in 3 provinces centered in Istanbul against city bandits trying to disrupt public order, 18 individuals were detained. In the operations, 4 AK-47 rifles, 2 pistols, a large number of cartridges, a significant amount of drugs, and materials used in their production were seized. We are present on every street, every avenue, and every corner. We will not allow any gang, any organized structure, or city bandits to operate," he said.
