In operations conducted regarding irregularities and bribery allegations in the building permit and occupancy permit processes at Üsküdar Municipality, 21 suspects were detained. The operation was carried out simultaneously at 30 addresses in Istanbul and Yalova.

THE INVESTIGATION IS CONDUCTED BY THE FINANCIAL CRIMES UNIT

Within the scope of the investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Special Investigation Bureau, it was determined through the work carried out by the Financial Crimes Unit of the Istanbul Provincial Police Department that irregularities occurred in the process of issuing building and occupancy permits at Üsküdar Municipality, and actions that could be considered as bribery offenses were carried out. 

21 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY

In this context, simultaneous operations were carried out at 30 addresses in Istanbul and Yalova; 20 suspects, including N.A., General Manager of Kent AŞ, and Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci, were detained. It was later learned that one more person was also detained.

During the searches conducted at Üsküdar Municipality, it was determined that an office was allocated to N.A., General Manager of the subsidiary company Kent AŞ, between the Department of Urban Planning and the Building Control Department, and that the nameplate on the office door indicated the title 'deputy mayor'.

The 21 individuals who were detained were referred to the courthouse this morning.
