Despite the declared ceasefire between the US-Israel and Iran, tensions in the region continue, and Israel's attacks on Lebanon are causing concern worldwide. The Chairman of the Turkey-Iran Friendship Group in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kayhan Türkmenoğlu, stated that the process could progress diplomatically through the initiatives of Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the attacks cast doubt on the sincerity of the ceasefire.
After the declared ceasefire between the US-Israel and Iran, while both sides remain on high alert due to Israel's attacks on Lebanon, the Chairman of the Turkey-Iran Friendship Group in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and AK Party Van Deputy Kayhan Türkmenoğlu evaluated the ceasefire, which keeps the whole world on edge, for Haberler.com. Türkmenoğlu stated, “There is an intense effort for this matter to result in peace with the great efforts of Turkey, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia. We hope that it will be brought to a point through some steps during the process.”
As the Chairman of the Turkey-Iran Friendship Group, Türkmenoğlu, who is in close contact with Iran, evaluated the destruction caused by the US-Israel attacks in Iran. Türkmenoğlu said, “While it does not create an impact in daily life in Iran, it is a fact that there is significant destruction in the defense and military field. There are reports of major attacks on civilian settlements and the destruction of many buildings. There are also attacks that hit schools, hospitals, and hotels,” he stated.
"ISRAEL AND THE US ARE NOT SINCERE IN THE CEASEFIRE" Chairman of the Turkey-Iran Friendship Group Türkmenoğlu emphasized that the US and Israel need to come to the table for peace, but pointed out that after US President Trump's ceasefire announcement, Israel attacked Beirut. Türkmenoğlu stated, “This attack is an indication that the US and Israel are not sincere. Due to these attacks, the perception that the ceasefire is not being implemented healthily has emerged worldwide,” he said.
“ISRAEL WANTS TO TURN THE MIDDLE EAST INTO A SEA OF BLOOD” Noting that Israel is trying to draw a separate route according to its own agenda and justify it, Türkmenoğlu stated, “The bombed areas are places where civilian populations are located. This shows that Israel has never wanted peace in the Middle East. It operates as a terrorist state to turn the Middle East into a sea of blood.”
