Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that a total of 841 suspects were apprehended in 48 simultaneous operations launched against organized crime groups. Stating that the operations are part of an uncompromising fight against organized crime, Minister Gürlek emphasized that they will decisively combat structures attempting to disturb the peace of cities.

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that simultaneous operations have been carried out across the country in the fight against organized crime groups. Legal proceedings have been initiated against a total of 841 suspects in the operations.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS IN 81 PROVINCES

Minister Gürlek stated in his social media post that the fight against organized crime groups continues with determination.

Reminding that, in line with the will expressed at the National Security Council meeting on June 18, the directive titled "Fight Against Organized Crime Groups" was sent to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of 175 Heavy Penal Courts in 81 provinces, Gürlek indicated that simultaneous operations have been launched across the country within this scope.

PROCEEDINGS AGAINST 841 SUSPECTS IN 48 OPERATIONS

According to the statement, legal proceedings were carried out against a total of 841 suspects in 48 separate operations conducted this morning by police and gendarmerie teams under the coordination of Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.

In this context, proceedings were carried out against 711 suspects in 35 operations organized under Article 220 of the Turkish Penal Code on the crime of "forming an organization with the aim of committing crimes" in 24 provinces under the coordination of 31 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.

For similar crimes not falling under organized crime, legal proceedings were carried out against 130 suspects in 13 operations organized in 10 provinces under the coordination of 10 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.

Minister Gürlek emphasized that the operations demonstrate the state's determination in the fight against organized crime groups and stated that they will not tolerate any structure that disrupts the peace of cities, drags young people into crime, or threatens tradesmen.

Gürlek noted that from the leaders of crime organizations to their financial networks, from hitmen to digital propaganda channels, all elements will be targeted, and thanked the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, prosecutors, and police and gendarmerie personnel involved in the operations.
