The leader of the Victory Party, Ümit Özdağ, reacted to the statements made by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli regarding the terrorist organization PKK's leader Abdullah Öcalan. Özdağ claimed that Turkey is being driven towards a 'historical turning point' and called on citizens to unite under the umbrella of the Victory Party.
In his speech at the group meeting of his party in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated, "I must say once again and insistently; the process of selecting members of parliament from the commission established in the Assembly to go to İmralı and receive the necessary messages directly from the first source will strengthen the process much more. The Nationalist Movement Party is ready to participate in such a delegation," which drew a reaction from the Chairman of the Victory Party, Ümit Özdağ.

In a statement he made on his social media account, Özdağ said, "The Republic of Turkey is being driven to a historical breaking point," and added, "I invite all patriots to become members of the Victory Party, to support it, and to join the struggle to resolutely defend the national, unitary, and secular state."
"IT IS THE THRESHOLD OF AN ANNIHILATION FOR THE TURKISH NATION"
Özdağ, in another post regarding the issue, stated, "The place Turkey has reached today and the point it is intended to be driven to in the near future is the threshold of an annihilation for the Turkish Nation."
Once again inviting people to join his party, Özdağ continued his remarks as follows: "While national sovereignty, unitary state structure, and the integrity of the homeland and nation slip away from our hands, we cannot watch this course. I invite everyone who wants to fight for the eternal survival of the republic established by Atatürk to become a member of the Victory Party. The Victory Party is the last bastion of political struggle for the republic established by Atatürk, justice, and the interests of the Turkish Nation, and the only line of resistance. How happy is the one who says I am a Turk! How happy is the one who fights in the ranks of the Victory Party!"
