"A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM MUST BE ESTABLISHED FOR THE RETURN OF SYRIANS TO THEIR HOMES"
Özel stated in a post on his social media account, "A comprehensive program that can enable the return of Syrians to their homes must be established immediately."
"A TRANSITIONAL GOVERNMENT REPRESENTING ALL SYRIANS MUST BE ESTABLISHED"
Emphasizing the necessity of establishing a transitional government that represents all Syrians in Syria, Özel noted: "The CHP is in favor of Syria's territorial integrity, democracy, peace, and stability in Syria. Our priority regarding Syria is the safety and peace of our citizens. A comprehensive program that can enable the return of Syrians, who have been in various statuses in Turkey for years, must be established immediately. We call on all friends of Syria, in order to avoid repeating the mistakes in Iraq and Libya, to support the establishment of a transitional government that will represent all Syrians, followed by a democratic regime based on human rights and the rule of law."
