Journalist Özlem Gürses was detained due to her remarks directed at the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) during a program on her YouTube channel.

Journalist Özlem Gürses, while evaluating the changing map of Syria before and after the fall of Bashar al-Assad during a live broadcast on her YouTube channel, stated, "As you can see, the ISIS structure; that is, the Turkish Armed Forces-Syrian National Army, has made small gains in some areas controlled by the Kurds." Gürses' statements drew reactions.

DETAINED

Gürses was detained due to her statements regarding the Turkish Armed Forces.

According to information published in Cumhuriyet, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention order against Gürses on charges of "insulting the institutions and organs of the state" and "publicly disseminating misleading information." The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Özlem Gürses was captured and detained.
