Sophie-May Dickson, the mother of 16-year-old Princess, who was subjected to systematic bullying on social media for years, shared photos taken at her daughter's funeral. This post led to accusations from her followers of 'chasing content creation and engagement.'

After years of systematic bullying on a dark gossip platform on the internet, the mother of 16-year-old Princess, who took her own life, faced accusations of "heartlessness" due to images she shared from her daughter's funeral.

32-year-old influencer mother Sophie-May Dickson shared moments of wrapping her daughter’s coffin in white during the ceremony held for Princess, who she lost last February, on her social media accounts. However, this emotional farewell quickly turned into a "lynch campaign." Some of her followers accused the mother of "chasing content and engagement" instead of mourning her child.

Behind the incident lies a horrific story of cyber harassment. The initial target on the so-called "gossip site" was mother Dickson. After receiving thousands of hateful comments, the mother found solace in closing her social media accounts, prompting the trolls behind the keyboard to turn their arrows towards her 14-year-old daughter Princess. This group, which mocked every detail of the young girl’s appearance and school life, followed her at every step with fake accounts, bringing Princess to the brink of dropping out of school.

In response to the heavy criticism, the mother defended herself by saying, "I didn’t do this for views." Dickson stated that due to the pain and adrenaline she experienced, she only remembered that day in pieces, adding, "I wanted to immortalize these very special last moments I shared with my daughter. I hired professional photographers so that I could always watch these farewell moments," she expressed.

The young girl’s suicide also stirred politics in the UK. 20 MPs officially requested relevant authorities to immediately shut down this website, which has become a "den of bullying" with 12 million visitors a month. The MPs emphasized that Princess had been followed digitally by adults for two years, harassed, and that her mental health deteriorated as a result.

It was revealed that mother Dickson had previously gone to the police but received the response, "This is a legal matter; we cannot intervene." The saddest part is that even after the young girl’s death, her funeral continued to be mocked on the same platform, and her mother was still blamed.
