Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in New York City, USA, to speak at the 80th United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Pashinyan made statements regarding Armenia's relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan from the UN podium. The Armenian Prime Minister stated, "I am pleased to note that an unprecedented positive dialogue has been established between Turkey and Armenia."

"I AM HAVING REGULAR MEETINGS WITH ERDOĞAN"

Pashinyan emphasized that they are in constant dialogue with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, saying, "I am having regular meetings with President Erdoğan, where the level of mutual trust continues to rise." Pashinyan described the relations between Turkey and Armenia as "a success that I evaluate as extremely high," while expressing his confidence that the diplomacy between the two countries will further improve.

Pashinyan stated, "I am sure that this will lead to positive results that will pave the way for the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey in the near future and the complete opening of the state border between the two countries."

"WE SAW THAT TRUMP IS TRULY COMMITTED TO THE PEACE IDEA"

The Armenian Prime Minister also referred to the peace agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, appreciating the efforts of U.S. President Donald Trump on this matter. In his statement, Pashinyan said, "President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and I nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize because we saw that Trump is truly committed to the idea of peace through our own example."

Pashinyan also addressed his country's other diplomatic relations from the podium, stating, "Our dialogue with Iran and Georgia is also becoming increasingly visible." The Armenian leader noted that the relationships with Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as these ties, are extremely important for making the South Caucasus region a peaceful, stable, and developing environment. Pashinyan said, "In this context, I value the 3+3 format, which is an important platform for establishing dialogue with the countries in our region and for developing our traditional dialogue with Russia."
