A woman who had to renew her ID, passport, and driver's license due to a surname change stated that she incurred expenses amounting to thousands of lira, expressing her frustration with the words, "Don't take your husband's surname, why am I changing it at this point?"

After getting married, a citizen who had to renew their official documents because they took their spouse's surname expressed their grievances on social media.

"DON'T TAKE YOUR SPOUSE'S SURNAME"

The citizen stated that they had to renew their driver's license, passport, and ID card due to the surname change, saying, "Don't take your spouse's surname. If your spouse doesn't have such a request, it's not really necessary. I paid 1800 lira for the driver's license and 1200 lira for the passport," they said.

"I HAD BEEN USING MY OWN SURNAME FOR 30 YEARS"

The citizen, who said they had lived with their own surname for many years, reacted to the practice with the words, "I have been using my own surname for 30 years, why am I changing it now?"
