Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi responded to calls for forcibly delivering aid through the Rafah border crossing, stating, "No one should expect me to gamble with the lives of Egyptians and to engage in conflict to force aid to the Palestinians. My country is obligated to protect the safety of its citizens."

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stated that his country is not involved in the blockade of Gaza and that the passage of aid requires coordination with Israel.

"FORCING THE DOOR MEANS A MILITARY STEP"

Speaking during a visit to the military academy, Sisi highlighted that some circles are calling for aid to be forcibly brought through the Rafah crossing, stating that this would mean a military operation. "No one should expect me to gamble with the lives of Egyptians and to engage in conflict to forcibly provide aid to the Palestinians," Sisi emphasized, stressing that he is responsible for ensuring the safety of his country's citizens.

"RAFAH CANNOT BE OPENED WITHOUT COORDINATION"

Sisi reminded that Gaza has only a 14-kilometer border with Egypt and is also connected to the outside world through the sea and other Israeli crossings. He noted that Rafah is designated for the passage of individuals, while the Kerem Shalom crossing is used for aid, stating that Rafah has been repeatedly destroyed in Israeli attacks, and although it is repaired each time, its opening requires coordination.

"ISRAEL IS VIOLATING THE AGREEMENT"

Sisi argued that Israel has stationed its military units in the 'Philadelphia Corridor,' which he claims violates the agreement between the two countries, saying, "This is an area that should be free of military presence; Israel's settlement effectively closes Rafah."

"WE HAVE EMPATHY BUT WE WILL NOT ENGAGE IN CONFLICT"

Stating that Egypt's efforts to assist the people of Gaza will continue, Sisi said, "Our people have empathy; however, we will not engage in conflict," and called for the dissemination of accurate information regarding Gaza.
