Phenomenon Cem Özkök was fined 500,000 TL for not including the word

26.07.2024 08:30

Cem Özkök, a phenomenon known for his cleaning videos and referred to as "Foşur foşur abi" on social media, expressed his frustration by stating that he had to pay a fine of 500,000 TL for not using the "advertisement" label while sharing a product belonging to his own brand.

Famous social media influencer Cem Özkök, known for his healthy eating and cleanliness videos and referred to as "Foşur foşur abi," was fined 500,000 TL for not including the word "Advertisement" when promoting his own product.

"I DO NOT FORGIVE THIS"

Cem Özkök, who has 3.6 million followers on Instagram, expressed his dissatisfaction with the fine he paid, saying, "I just paid a fine of 500,000 TL. Moreover, I didn't write 'Advertisement' on just one of my stories while promoting my own brand Ceef's lavender oil (I posted hundreds of stories clearly stating it was an advertisement and Turkey knows it's my own brand). They said, 'This is hidden advertising,' and I said, 'It's my own brand, here's my sign, my company information, my taxes, etc.' They said, 'If you had written advertisement,' that's another 500,000 TL... Now I ask, is this fair? Is it really permissible? For example, if there really was hidden advertising or a situation contrary to the declaration, I would share it openly and pay it like a lion. But I do not forgive this."

"AN INSULT TO SOMEONE WHO PAYS TAXES LIKE A FACTORY"

"Why? Everyone knows everything that's going on, the frauds, the tax evaders, and so on... I haven't said a word about any of them. While all this is happening, there are people making fake advertisements for money 24/7... In Turkey, someone who does such beneficial work, creates content, starts charity projects, donates the money earned to good causes, helps those in need, raises awareness in society, lives a righteous and lawful life, and sets an example for young people and people of all ages. A great insult has been made to someone who earns money with the fear of God and pays taxes to this country like a factory."

"I THREW 500,000 TL INTO THE TRASH UNFAIRLY"

"There must be some good in this as well. God will give it to me from somewhere else in a lawful way. That's a separate issue! But you can't fine someone who is so giving for promoting their own brand. It's not right... Maybe I was going to use that money to help someone? I found someone in need and was going to renovate their house. Why did I throw this money into the trash unfairly? Now I ask, isn't this interfering with justice? My lawyer has filed a lawsuit against this injustice and is following the process. Everyone will pay for their actions."
