Consumer inflation in Poland surged 12.4% in April, marking the highest annual hike since May 1998, according to the country's statistical office on Friday.
The figure was up from 11% in March, led by the price rises in dwellings (17%), food (13.2%), transport (21.1%), restaurants and hotels (14.1%) and recreation and culture (9.3%) in April.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index climbed 2% in April versus a 3.3% month-on-month rise registered in March. -
