President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, "With the Zero Waste Movement initiated by our country, which has now turned into a global environmental movement, a total of 90 million tons of waste has been recovered. Thus, we contributed 365 billion lira to the Turkish economy. God willing, we aim to increase the recovery rate to 60% by 2035 and to 70% by 2053."

President Erdoğan made a statement on his social media account due to 'March 30 International Zero Waste Day'. Erdoğan stated, "I would like to express my great satisfaction with the growing and strengthening of the Zero Waste Movement that we initiated in 2017 under the leadership of my precious wife Emine Erdoğan. With the Zero Waste Movement initiated by our country, which has now turned into a global environmental movement, a total of 90 million tons of waste has been recovered. Thus, we contributed 365 billion lira to the Turkish economy. God willing, we aim to increase the recovery rate to 60% by 2035 and to 70% by 2053. We will continue our fight against climate change and environmental pollution resolutely."
