President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Ustundag after the National Women's Volleyball Team's 2026 FIVB Nations League championship to congratulate the athletes and technical team.
The Women's National Volleyball Team faced Brazil in the final of the 2026 FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL). In the match played in Macau, China at 14:30 TRT, the Sultans of the Net made history with a 3-1 score.
With this result, the national team achieved victory for the second time in the tournament.
CONGRATULATORY PHONE CALL FROM ERDOĞAN
The first congratulation after the historic victory came from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
President Erdoğan called TVF President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ by phone after the Women's National Volleyball Team's 2026 FIVB Nations League championship and congratulated the athletes and technical staff.
"I CONGRATULATE YOU"
During the phone call, Üstündağ said to Erdoğan, "We are bringing the cup to you." Erdoğan responded by saying, "I congratulate you." Üstündağ then thanked Erdoğan.
