HE HAD WARNED WITH HARSH WORDS
In his speech following the Cabinet Meeting, Erdoğan had warned Tehran with clear words after a missile fired from Iran violated Turkey's airspace.
"WRONG AND PROVOCATIVE STEPS..."
Stating that "extremely wrong and provocative steps continue to be taken that will jeopardize Turkey's friendship despite our sincere warnings," Erdoğan emphasized that there should be no calculations that would cast a shadow over the thousand-year-old neighborhood and brotherhood law between Turkey and Iran.
HE HAD SPOKEN WITH PEZESHKIAN
President Erdoğan had also held a phone conversation with Iranian President Pezeshkian the day before at the request of the other side. In the meeting, Erdoğan expressed the need to open the door to diplomacy, stating that Turkey is making efforts to achieve this, and that they do not find illegal interventions against Iran and Iran's targeting of brother countries in the region acceptable, but rather that targeting brother countries is not beneficial to anyone and should be ended.
