President Erdoğan: We will continue to use both the Çankaya Mansion and the Presidential Complex.

10.11.2024 20:41

The cabinet meeting was held at the Çankaya Mansion for the first time in 9 years, and President Erdoğan made noteworthy statements regarding this. Erdoğan said, "The Presidential Complex is the home of the nation. The Mansion is one of the monumental buildings of the republic that holds the memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal and the presidents who served before us. We will continue to use both the Çankaya Mansion, which is the home of the nation and a source of pride, and the Presidential Complex in the most efficient way possible."

The cabinet meeting was held at the Çankaya Mansion, not at Beştepe for the first time in 9 years. After the historic meeting, President Erdoğan addressed the cameras and gave striking messages regarding the issue.

ERDOĞAN'S STATEMENT ON ÇANKAYA MANSION

Stating that they will continue to use the Çankaya Mansion, Erdoğan said: "This morning, we inaugurated the new building of the Atatürk Culture, Language and History High Institution. Before our cabinet meeting, we also held the opening of the Atatürk Museum Mansion, which is the first official residence of the Republic of Turkey where Gazi Pasha resided between 1921-1932, after its restoration.

"THEY ARE TRYING TO CREATE FITNA"

I would also like to express my sadness here. A segment in our country is seriously disturbed by the return to the essence and original identity of the republic. These circles, which we describe as wardrobe Atatürkists and social media Atatürkists in recent times, exploit every opportunity they have seized in order not to lose their privileges. Instead of openly stating the reason for their discomfort, they are trying to create contradictions among the symbols of Turkey, or more accurately, to create fitna by resorting to nonsensical dualities.

"ÇANKAYA IS ONE OF THE MONUMENTAL STRUCTURES OF THE REPUBLIC"

The most recent example of this is the Presidential Complex and the Çankaya Mansion. It is nothing but the trade of discord to confront the Çankaya Mansion, which is a memorial of the gazis, with the site where 29 of our people were martyred on the night of July 15, targeted by FETÖ traitors. The complex is the home of the nation. The mansion is one of the monumental structures of the republic that holds the memory of Gazi Mustafa Kemal and the presidents who served before us.

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO USE IT IN THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY"

Instead of pitting one against the other or positioning one against the other, we give both the value they deserve, and we will continue to do so. Today, we held the 28th meeting of our cabinet here, tearing up and throwing away all these scenarios. We will continue to use both the Çankaya Mansion, which is the home of the nation and a source of pride, and the Presidential Complex in the most efficient way."

A FIRST AFTER 9 YEARS

The decision for the cabinet meeting was held at Çankaya for the first time under Erdoğan's presidency since the closure of the prime ministry. With the opening of the complex for use, the Çankaya Mansion, which was transferred to the prime ministry, last hosted the council of ministers in 2015. On the other hand, President Erdoğan last announced the new cabinet members at the Çankaya Mansion on June 5, 2023.
