The parent company of Facebook, META, founded and led by Mark Zuckerberg, has developed a protective shield against anti-Israel and anti-Zionism messages. The controversial decision was reportedly made based on the opinions of over 145 lawyers, historians, and human rights advocates.

Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp's parent company META has made an update to its hate speech policy regarding Israel, deciding not to remove content that uses the term "Zionist."

Starting from next Tuesday, META will remove messages that contain "Zionism" and claims of "world domination or control of the media."

According to the decision welcomed by Israeli groups, Meta has planned to remove content that uses this term on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. It was reported that the decision was made in line with the opinions of more than 145 historians, lawyers, and human rights advocates from around the world. The timing of the decision, following an investigation into how social media is currently being used during the war in Gaza, is noteworthy.

Brendan McGeever, an expert on anti-Semitism, expressed his concern about the announcement, stating that the decision will hinder the fight against real anti-Semitism.
