In the UEFA Nations League A, France faced Israel in Paris. French fans whistled to protest the Israeli anthem during the national anthems. This led to a fight breaking out among the fans.

Whistles have risen this time from France for Israel, which has faced backlash worldwide due to its attacks on Palestine. Tense moments occurred during the France-Israel match played in the capital Paris in the 5th week of the UEFA Nations League A.

ISRAELI ANTHEM WHISTLED, STANDS IN CHAOS

French fans whistled the Israeli anthem. After the first whistle of the match, tensions rose in the stands. Fans of both teams clashed during the match played at Stade de France. French police intervened in an attempt to break up the fight.

THINGS HAD ALSO GOTTEN CHAOTIC IN HOLLAND

Israeli fans had attacked and provoked Palestinian supporters before and during the Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv match played on November 7 in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. A total of 63 people were detained in connection with the incidents that occurred before and after the match in the Netherlands.

INTENSE SECURITY MEASURES WERE TAKEN

Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez stated that 4,000 police officers would be on duty during the France-Israel match, with 2,500 patrolling Stade de France, the northern suburbs of Paris, and public transport. Additionally, it was noted that there would be 1,600 private security personnel in the stadium and that elite police forces would protect the Israeli National Team. The Israeli team arrived at the stadium under heavy security measures.

PALESTINIAN FLAG WAS BANNED

Moreover, it had been announced days in advance that bringing Palestinian flags to the stadium was prohibited. It was also declared that only French and Israeli flags would be allowed at the match.
