The Russian leader, during a meeting with students at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), one of Russia's leading universities in theoretical and applied physics, said, "Experts are divided on how the climate situation on the planet and in the Arctic will change in the future. They have different opinions on whether we are really facing global warming or, according to some, the peak of warming is behind us and cooling is about to begin."

Putin, who gave clear messages regarding the exploration of the region claimed by U.S. President Donald Trump, stated, "The important thing is that we will continue the exploration of the Arctic in any case. The northern latitudes constitute 70% of Russian territory. This is a very important issue."
"FRAMEWORK OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE U.S. AND NATO REGARDING GREENLAND"
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that during his meetings in Davos on January 21, they established a "framework of agreement" regarding Greenland with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and in this context, he halted the customs tariffs planned to be applied to 8 European countries on February 1.
In a statement on his social media account, Trump commented on his meeting with Rutte, saying, "As a result of this meeting, we established the framework for a future agreement regarding Greenland and the entire Arctic region. If this solution is implemented, it will be a great solution for the U.S. and all NATO countries."
Trump also stated that additional discussions would be held regarding the "Dome of Gold" defense system related to Greenland, and the entire process would be managed by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Representative Steve Witkoff.
On January 17, Trump announced that a 10% tariff would be imposed on goods imported from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland starting February 1, due to their opposition to the U.S. acquiring Greenland, and that this rate would increase to 25% on June 1.
