On August 14, lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, who was arrested, was granted a release decision with a travel ban in the bribery case he is being tried for.

The Supreme Court's 5th Criminal Chamber issued a release decision for lawyer Rezan Epözdemir with the condition of a travel ban abroad.

Within the scope of two separate investigations initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, lawyer Epözdemir was detained on August 10 on charges of 'bribery', 'aiding FETÖ', and 'political and military espionage', and was arrested on August 14 on the allegation of 'facilitating bribery'.

A release decision was made with a judicial control measure in the form of a travel ban abroad in the 'bribery' case seen at the Supreme Court's 5th Criminal Chamber. It was decided that the detention of the expelled public prosecutor Cengiz Çallı would continue.

HE HAD DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS IN HIS STATEMENT

In his statement, Rezan Epözdemir said he did not remember going on vacation or having dinner outside of work with the expelled prosecutor C.Ç., stating, "I met this man through a mutual friend A.D. After learning that this man was a fraudster, I resigned from his legal representation. I will file a complaint against him for 'false testimony' and 'slander' due to his statements in the case."
