Scandalous Defense for Narin's Accused Relatives by her older brother Baran Güran

In the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in Eğertutmaz Stream the day before yesterday, Baran Güran, the 21-year-old brother, explained what happened.

"MY UNCLE IS LIKE MY FATHER"

When asked "Did you not suspect anything when your uncle (arrested Salim Güran) was taken into custody, did you not talk among the family, did you not discuss this situation?" Baran Güran answered as follows; "My uncle is like my father, there is no difference from my father. While the search was continuing day and night, I was sleeping at night, but my uncle was not sleeping and he was participating in the search operations with the team even at night. He was saying 'I will not sleep until I bring my daughter back, even if the world collapses on me.' He was asking for every place to be searched for finding her. We are a very close-knit family. I still have a clear conscience about my uncle. My uncle is my life, if I hurt myself, my uncle would kill himself. When my uncle was in the courthouse, he said to his son; 'My son, you are outside, hold your head up high, your father will be released. If it doesn't happen today, if it doesn't happen tomorrow, it will definitely happen one day. Stand tall among the people, don't interfere with anyone.'"

"HOW COULD MY MOTHER DARE TO DO THIS?"

Güran also commented on the allegations regarding his mother and uncle, claiming that his mother was being slandered, saying, "They say 'There is something between the uncle and the mother and Narin saw this.' My younger brother was at home until 16:30 and my mother was at home with my sister-in-law. How could my mother dare to do this? My brother was at home at those hours, my other brother Enes was around the house. Who would dare to do such a thing? If something like this had happened, I would have been the first to react to my mother, I would have taken her by the arm and thrown her in front of the police station."

"ENES IS ACCUSED OF USING DRUGS"

Güran commented on the different allegations made about Enes, Narin's brother who is in custody, saying; "A lot of things have been said about Enes. However, Enes was the one who cared the most about Narin at home. Enes always carried Narin around when she was little. Except for Enes, everyone in the house had a special affection for Narin. We were 6 siblings, I am the oldest, and we all cared deeply for each other. There is also an allegation that Enes uses drugs. If there is such a thing, wouldn't it show up in the tests? Why wasn't a test done? If it had been done, it would have been easily understood. The bite mark on his arm was also talked about a lot. The reason for this is the anger and pain Narin felt when she disappeared, she bit her arm, but she had never bitten her arm before. I also hit my head out of anger, it was a reaction."

"IF WE HAD KILLED THIS GIRL, WHO WOULD KNOW?"

Baran Güran continued his words as follows: "They say the family did it. They already say that we are a rooted family. If we had killed this girl among ourselves, who would know? Whose soul would hear it? Could anyone have said to us 'Where is Narin?' We did our best to make our voice heard for Narin to be found, we called the media."
