Adana Demirspor's captain Semih Güler, whose team lost 5-0 to Trabzonspor away, expressed his frustration after the match. Güler said, "It shouldn't be a day dedicated to combating violence against women. I don't understand why we need to make this day special. Because women, our mothers, our sisters, are everything to us. Without them, this world would be a very bad place. I was born in Germany and have never encountered something like this. When did we, as a country, become so hostile towards each other? Every week we face something different."
After losing 5-0 away to Trabzonspor, Adana Demirspor's defender Semih Güler made striking statements following the match. The captain of the Mediterranean team protested the existence of a day called "International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women."
"THERE SHOULD NOT BE SUCH A DAY"
Sharing his thoughts on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Güler stated, "There should not be an International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. I don't understand why we need to make this day special. Because women, our mothers, our sisters are everything to us. Without them, this world would be a very bad place. Why does this day exist? I was born in Germany and have never encountered such a thing. When did we become so hostile to each other as a country? We face something different every week. These are things that should not happen," he expressed.
"A DEFEAT THAT DOES NOT SUIT US"
Speaking about the match, the 29-year-old footballer said, "We suffered a defeat that does not suit us. We also had important opportunities. If we were a bit more experienced, we could have evaluated them. You cannot create many chances away at Trabzonspor. When you do, you need to make the most of them. I thank our young brothers. We will continue our struggle," he said.
HE THANKED TRABZONSPOR FANS
Semih also thanked the Trabzonspor fans, saying the following;
"I want to thank the Trabzonspor fans as well. Throughout the match, I did not hear a single bad word or anything else. They applauded us after the match. If we are like this as a country, it would be beautiful; no one can defeat us."
