The statement of DJ İlkay Şencan, the boyfriend of singer Simge Sağın, who was detained in a drug investigation involving celebrities and released under judicial control, has emerged. Şencan, who confessed to secretly using drugs after the award ceremony, stated, "Simge has no knowledge of this matter whatsoever. In fact, she doesn't even know that I used it. All the materials found at home belong to me."
After being detained as part of a drug investigation targeting celebrities, singer Simge Sağın's boyfriend DJ İlkay Şencan's statement has emerged.
COMPREHENSIVE OPERATION AGAINST NARCOTICS
Teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Narcotic Crimes Combat Branch initiated an operation based on evidence, tips, and information obtained within the scope of the ongoing investigation. During the examinations, suspects identified as participating in the crimes of "purchasing drugs or stimulants for personal use," "accepting or possessing or using drugs or stimulants," and "supplying drugs or stimulants" were detected.
In this context, Simge Sağın, İbrahim Çelikkol, Melek Mosso, Deha Bilimlier, Mustafa Ceceli, Ersay Üner, Bengü Erden, Aslı Sipahi Hacısüleymanoğlu, and İlkay Şencan were detained.
JUDICIAL CONTROL FOR 2 PEOPLE
The suspects İbrahim Çelikkol, Mustafa Ceceli, Deha Bilimlier, Ersay Üner, Z. Aslı Sipahi Hacısüleymanoğlu, and Bengü Erden were released. Melek Mosso, who was referred to the courthouse, was released without judicial control, while Simge Sağın and İlkay Şencan were released under judicial control with a travel ban abroad.
"I DRANK AT HOME AFTER THE AWARD CEREMONY"
According to journalist Mustafa Kadir Mercan's report, singer Simge Sağın's boyfriend provided a statement regarding the drugs found at her home. In his statement, İlkay Şencan explained that they went to Simge Sağın's house after attending an award ceremony together on the night of April 6. The suspect stated that later that night, while Simge Sağın was sleeping upstairs, he took the drugs from his bag located downstairs.
"SIMGE HAS NO IDEA"
In his statement, the suspect said, "Due to the stress of the day, I consumed half of the substance in my bag, and I put the remaining part into a box I found in the kitchen." Claiming that the drugs, grinding device, and rolling paper seized at the house belonged to him, the suspect stated, "Simge has no knowledge of this matter whatsoever. In fact, she doesn't even know that I consumed it. All the materials found in the house belong to me."
THEY ATTENDED THE AWARD CEREMONY TOGETHER
This year, Simge Sağın attended the 8th MusicOnair Award Ceremony with her boyfriend DJ and arranger İlkay Şencan, whom she recently announced she had started dating. Simge won the 'Best Female Pop Singer Award' that night, while her boyfriend received the 'Best DJ Award.' The singer congratulated her boyfriend with a kiss as he went up to receive his award.
After the ceremony, Simge answered questions, saying, "We are doing quite well. We manifested love. İlkay had a music camp, and we met there. I liked him the moment I met him. I was under his influence," she said. İlkay Şencan stated, "We tricked each other a bit. We have been good since the moment we met. I was already affected by her before. It has been about 2 months. We are very happy. We are experiencing something within ourselves, and we are making music too," he said.
ARREST ON THE MORNING AFTER THE AWARD
Özgür Aras, the manager of Simge Sağın, who was detained during the operation conducted on the morning after the award night, stated, "There is no substance use other than the prescription medications that Simge Sağın uses under medical supervision."
