Composer, musician, and singer Sinan Akçıl has been sued for allegedly failing to pay the parking and towing fees for his minibus, which was towed to an impound lot, for 10 years. The court decided to continue the initiated enforcement proceedings.
The minibus belonging to singer Sinan Akçıl was towed to the parking lot of Güvenli Otopark and Yediemin Hizmetleri company on October 15, 2014. While Akçıl did not retrieve the vehicle, the company filed a lawsuit against Sinan Akçıl at the Istanbul 33rd Enforcement Court, claiming that he did not pay for the parking and towing fees, which reached 50,000 lira over 10 years. The enforcement proceedings were halted with an objection from Akçıl's lawyers. The company then filed a lawsuit requesting the 'cancellation of the objection.'
DEFENDANT JOINTLY AT FAULT
The Istanbul 19th Civil Court of First Instance, which examined the case, stated in its decision that according to the expert report, the parking fee from the date the vehicle was taken into custody on October 15, 2014, until the date the lawsuit was filed on August 20, 2024, amounted to 120,928 lira, and the towing fee was 1,190 lira. The court also noted that the defendant had contributory fault in the payment of the parking fee.
VEHICLE STILL IN PARKING LOT
The court ruled for the partial cancellation of the objection and the continuation of the enforcement proceedings based on the principal claim of 50,000 lira, rejecting the request for enforcement denial compensation as the claim was not liquidated, and decided to accept the case. The court ordered the continuation of the enforcement proceedings based on the 50,000 lira. Furthermore, it was learned that the vehicle in question is still parked in the parking lot. Following the court's decision, the company sent a seizure notice to Akçıl's bank accounts and the production companies he works with through his lawyers on December 12.
