US social media influencers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, who face multiple charges including human trafficking and rape in the UK, have been detained in the US state of Florida.
SPOKESPERSON FOR THE MINISTRY ANNOUNCED
According to CBS News, a spokesperson for the US Department of Justice reported that Andrew and Tristan Tate were detained in Miami under extradition agreements and law enforcement cooperation between the US and the UK.
Brady McCarron, a spokesperson for the federal law enforcement agency within the department, told the Associated Press that the arrest warrant for the detention is sealed and did not share details about the charges.
THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH HEINOUS CRIMES
In the UK, Andrew Tate, 39, faces 7 charges of rape, 3 charges related to organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, 3 charges of intentional injury, and 19 charges linked to child abuse images.
Tristan Tate (38) faces 1 charge of sexual assault, 2 charges of rape, and 3 charges related to organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Andrew and Tristan Tate, who hold dual US and UK citizenship, moved to Romania in 2016 and were detained there in 2022 as part of an investigation into human trafficking.
